Technical Specifications

Non-accessible content

We are aware of some limitations to the accessibility of the portal. Below is a description of known limitations; you are invited to contact us if you encounter an accessibility issue not listed below.

Known limitations for the Agri-food data portal:

  1. Keyboard navigation: links on the navigation pages can be reached using keystrokes, and the navigation can be performed with the TAB key, but there is no uniformvisual indication of the link that has the current focus (and therefore will respond when the ENTER key is pressed). On the actual data visualisation pages the same limitation applies to keyboard navigation of the filters, and there is no keyboard navigation inside the actual graphs or charts.
  2. Video: the video tutorial “API vs Manual Download” does not have audio description (the spoken text is captioned). The video frame does not have a title.
  3. Graphs and charts – Use of colour: Many of the graphs and charts rely on colour to distinguish between different datasets under comparison. If the user has a mouse, they can hover over the chart element to see the details independently from the colour representation.
  4. Heading hierarchy: Some pages do not yet present content in a hierarchical heading organisation.
  5. API documentation: In the general section of the API documentation, the URL structure is presented as an image without alt text.
